Secretariat news Fiona McAllister has joined the Academy secretariat as Policy Officer to support the Academy's work on influencing and understanding government policy. She will work with a new Policy Working Group headed by Prof Michael Harloe. Madeleine Barrows, who has been working as the Academy's Communications Officer is now appointed as Assistant Director (Secretariat) with particular responsibility for governance, and publications. _____________________________ |

Contemporary Social Science The latest issue of Contemporary Social Science is out now. This Special Issue is entitled: The Social Dynamics of Web 2.0 . Visit the journal website. David Canter AcSS, the editor of CSS is producing regular podcasts to introduce new issues. Click here (journal website) The Academy’s journal, Contemporary Social Science, is thriving. A range of special issues in now in progress, cov-ering everything from the Olympics to Alcohol, by way of the punishment of children. It is now available in thou-sands of libraries worldwide, with hundreds of downloads of key papers. So now is the time to consider submit-ting proposals for special issues or individual papers. Notes for special issue proposals and authors are on the Journal website, but if you want further information do contact the editor Professor David Canter via dvcanter@btinternet.com. Important notice. In response to requests, the Academy has decided to move towards distribution of the journal to its members in electronic format, although print format will still be available to those who prefer.
