Campaign for Social Science In January the Academy will launch a major Campaign to promote and defend UK social science and its top international ranking. To deliver this Campaign successfully the Academy's existing resources need to be strengthened, so we will seek to raise £250,000 to fund a research unit and a public engagement unit over five years. From our uniquely representative and extensive membership these units will amass evidence showing the added value to society of social science research and the problems that arise when it is not carried out., and then feed stories into the media to heighten awareness and lobby effectively. Member learned societies have already been contacted about this Campaign. Academicians will receive more information in due course about regional roadshows which will bring the Campaign to you, and the various ways in which you can help. ******** |
