Prof Peter Taylor-Gooby AcSS

Annual General Meeting 2012

The Academy AGM will take place on Thursday 5th July 2012 at 30 Tabernacle Street, London EC2A 4UE. Professor Peter Taylor-Gooby AcSS, the well known authority on social policy will talk on: The State of Social Science: only itself to blame?, reflecting on why it is that social science faces severe criticism from the media and from prominent individuals, when social science topics are at the centre of so much of public debate. Followed by a Q&A session.

New Academicians will be welcomed and presented with their certificates.

International Activities

The Academy’s International Advisory Group, chaired by Professor Linda Hantrais AcSS (left) has targeted international social research methods training.

Two of the IAG’s members have been acting as academic consultants on an ESRC-funded project under their Researcher Development Initiative. To mark the end of the award they are organising an event on 12 July 2012, 15.30-18.00, at Europe House in Central London, to which Academicians are cordially invited.
