The 2019 Annual Conference of the Scottish Economic Society takes place in Perth Concert Hall. It starts Sunday evening at the Royal George Hotel with a Welcome Reception followed by two days of academic sessions and concluding with the traditional Annual Gala Conference Dinner on Tuesday evening.
The Society welcomes papers and proposals for organised sessions from all areas of Economics, Economic Policy and Econometrics from academics and practitioners regardless of sector.

President’s Invited Lecture:
“Brexit through the ages” by Barry Eichengreen, University of California, Berkeley
Barry Eichengreen is the George C. Pardee and Helen N. Pardee Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He currently serves as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research.
Policy Keynote Address:
“The sustainability of high-quality journalism” by Dame Frances Cairncross
Frances Cairncross is Chair of Court, Heriot-Watt University and chairs the UK Government’s review examining the sustainability of high quality journalism.
