We are pleased to announce the relocation of our administrative office to 33 Finsbury Square, London, EC2A 1AG on 19th October 2015. We shall be housed within the offices of The University of Liverpool in London.
The new premises, a short distance from our current location, will provide a larger, more functional office for the secretariat and, for the first time, be able to receive visitors. There are open meeting spaces and a café on site. The office will have improved facilities, also providing access to meeting rooms and venue space as part of the arrangement, giving us a good location for all Academy meetings. We shall not need to hire rooms in other locations in future.
We were glad, with the support of the British Psychological Society, to have been able to move into a small office at their premises at 30 Tabernacle Street in 2008. Since then, the Academy has grown in the volume of its activities and launched the Campaign for Social Science.
Commenting on the move, Executive Director, Stephen Anderson, said: “Council felt that an improvement in the physical presence of the Academy was commensurate with our ambitions to be the National Academy of Academics, Learned Societies and Practitioners in the Social Sciences. Taking up a new office within Liverpool’s new London campus will help us build our corporate identity, but at a fraction of the overhead costs which might otherwise be expected. We are very grateful to The University of Liverpool for facilitating the move.”
The Academy also wishes to thank Irwin Mitchell LLP, for their work – pro bono – on our behalf. Their statement can be read here.
