AGM to go ahead ‘virtually’ on 30 June

The Academy’s Annual General Meeting will go ahead as planned on Tuesday 30 June but as a ‘virtual’ event. It will take place via Zoom from 3pm to 4:30pm.

The Annual Lecture – which normally precedes the AGM – will not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will consider whether we can hold the lecture later in the year.
At the AGM President Professor Roger Goodman FAcSS, Chief Executive Dr Rita Gardner CBE FAcSS and senior Trustees will report on the Academy’s performance and answer any questions.
A maximum of 100 Fellows and learned society members will be able to join via Zoom. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The AGM marks the point of the year when changes are made to the Academy’s Council – its governing body. The Council is made up of 21 Trustees – seven elected by Fellows, seven elected by learned societies and seven appointed by Council. Trustees serve a maximum of two three-year terms. This year there are no places arising on Council for election by Fellows or learned societies. There are two places arising for appointment by Council and we will report on those at the AGM.
