The Academy’s new lecture series, called Enduring Ideas, which is the successor to its highly popular ‘Myths and Realities’ series, was inaugurated on 26th November 2014 with a captivating talk from Professor Matt Flinders FAcSS on The Problem with Democracy at the British Library. Professor Flinders is current Chair of the Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom and Director of the new Sir Bernard Crick Centre for the Public Understanding of Politics at the University of Sheffield. The evening was chaired by the Rt Hon Peter Riddell CBE FAcSS, Director of the Institute for Government.
