Open call for new Council members 2019
15 April 2019
Would you like to help lead the Academy’s mission to promote social science in the UK for the public benefit?
Four vacancies are coming up for election on the Academy’s Council this year. Three of the vacancies fall from within the constituency of individual Fellows and one from within the constituency of Learned Societies.
The Council is the Academy’s governing body and its members are both trustees and directors, as the Academy is both a registered charity and a limited company. Council members serve a three-year term, which may be renewed for a further term of three years. Members’ responsibilities are set out here and the current members are listed here.
If you would like to put yourself forward for election, please decide which constituency you would like to stand in – either Fellows or Learned Societies – and complete the form for that consistency. [please see forms below]
Please send completed forms to Dr Rita Gardner CBE FAcSS, Chief Executive of the Academy, at [email protected] by Thursday 16 May 2019. The elections will run from 23 May to 13 June 2019 and the results will be announced at the Academy’s AGM on 20 June 2019.
