Professor Jane Broadbent FAcSS, formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of Roehampton University and now Professor of Accounting at Royal Holloway, University of London, has been elected by the Academy’s Fellows to its Council to serve a three year term, renewable once. Professor Broadbent is already a member of the Academy’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
Having trained as an accountant in the NHS her research interest is in the use of accounting in the Public Services, particularly where profit is not a motivator for those delivering front line services. Jane is editor emerita of the journal Public Money and Management.
Speaking as the results were announced at the Academy’s Annual General Meeting on 3rd July 2014, Professor Sir Cary Cooper CBE FAcSS welcomed her to the Council which he chairs.
