The UK Healthcare Education Advisory Committee (UKHEAC) is seeking to recruit new members with the right expertise and vision to contribute to the development of healthcare education and research. The deadline for applications is midnight on Friday 16 October 2015.
The UKHEAC advises the four UK HE funding bodies on healthcare training and research.
In order to create the necessary balance of skills on the committee we are keen to appoint members with experience across a range of healthcare higher education, in particular with a background in either medicine, allied health or NHS trusts. Successful members will be able to provide advice at a senior strategic level.
This is rewarding activity and successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute and help shape the approach to healthcare higher education and research at a time when significant developments are anticipated.
New members will need to commit time both to reading background papers and to contributing to three meetings a year, usually in March, June and November (the last meeting of the UKHEAC in 2015 will be held on 7 December). The position will be an unpaid fixed-term three year appointment but we can pay for expenses in attending the meetings.
Further details about the UKHEAC, along with minutes from previous meetings, are available at http://www.hefce.ac.uk/about/Committees/.
